Regarding the destruction of natural habitats, the outdoor spaces of my office are managed without chemicals, without thermal engines and by promoting species richness. Result: wintering of the alpine newt, installation of the hedgehog, reproduction of the small doe and the greyish decticella, observation of the praying mantis, …. All of these species were absent prior this type of management.

Air and water pollution

There is no air conditioning (a source of pollution) in my office; All waste (source of soil-water pollution) is sorted, including organic waste into compost, and treated separately by the municipal waste disposal centre. The result: approx. 200 kg of GHGs avoided (air conditioning), heavy metal pollution avoided (waste treatment by sector).

Need for stable land

It is difficult to reduce the risk associated with this dependency. Indeed, the building is in a region with little risk of landslides. It is more exposed to the risk of flooding, as it is located on a drained marsh. But there is little chance that the drainage network will be abandoned. Note that a canalized river flows in the immediate vicinity.

Strengthening the local economy

In order to take care of the impacts of my upstream value chain, BioPerf.biz work as much as possible with local service providers who also have sustainability commitments. In addition, on a more political level, I am an active member of the liberal Verts (Parti vert’libéral vaudois) and of its sustainability and nature working group. In the end, all companies are concerned by nature. This is what drives my involvement in the sustainability commission of the CVCI, a regional business umbrella organisation.

Asset Utilization
