      Taras Piterskikh<\/a><\/span> <\/span>from Swiss-based <\/span>Hero<\/span><\/a> <\/span>held an insightful demonstration at the expert event organized by CISL alumni from Lausanne on May 15th, 2025. CSRD has now become the new standard, rendering GRI ones less obvious. It is an umbrella guidance for implementing a sustainability strategy.
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      The key lessons learned<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

      \ud83d\udcfa Apply the DMA as a prelimininary screening<\/span><\/strong>: The Double Materiality Assessment serves as an effective tool for setting priorities. Organizing the sustainability team around these priorities can facilitate the implementation of related actions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      \ud83d\udcac Take care of you com‘<\/span><\/strong>: The data collection required by CSRD is extensive, and team members in charge of data may require specific narrative to understand their contributions. Sustainability jargon is not that of the operations, finances or HSE colleagues!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      \ud83e\udd6c Biodiversity requires specific project<\/span><\/strong>: Among the environmental standards of CSRD (the so-called ESRS), biodiversity appears to be the most challenging to manage due to the multiplicity of indicators.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      \ud83d\udce0 Prepare to new reporting format:<\/strong><\/span> Swiss regulation on climate asks for human- and machine-readable format; preparing accordingly for reporting is essential.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      \u26a0\ufe0f C<\/strong>onsider the audit with correct caution<\/strong><\/span>:\u00a0 Achieving CSRD compliance involves substantial changes, including diverse auditor assessments. Attention must be paid to the fact that these stakeholders are also learning and may provide variable feedback on similar topics.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa \ud83d\ude8c R<\/strong>equirements of the European Union regarding specific sectors<\/strong><\/span>: Sectoral guidelines would certainly aid in more time-efficient compliance. It is unfortunate that the Omnibus regulations bring delay. (Comment added after Omnibus v1 release:\u00a0the sectoral requirements have been abandoned, see other initiatives that have worked on sector-specific biodiversity assessment).<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
